Revelation Six
The six seals
Almost all of the events in Revelation pertain to Israel. Whenever John refers to Israel, or that region, he uses the Greek word gé; which means land - not water, but it also means a region, a country or inhabitants of a region. When John refers to the world he uses the Greek words kosmos or oikoumené which basically mean the inhabited world. The Greek word gé (the land of Israel or the region of Israel) is used almost exclusively for the events in Revelation.
Here is a perfect example of both gé and oikoumené.
Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
(The kings of/in the region of Israel and of the whole inhabited earth.)
The events in Revelation, other than the millennium, will last seven years and they will bring Israel back to God. The six seals cover Israel's judgments up to the day of judgment. They just don't go into much detail. The trumpets and vials found later in the book are the same events but in more detail.
There's seven seals, seven trumpets and seven vials. Seals one thru four cover trumpets one thru three. They will last approximately three and a half years. The fifth seal covers the fourth and fifth trumpet. Vials one thru five also occur during the time of the fifth seal. The fifth seal, the fourth and fifth trumpets, and the first five seals also last approximately three and a half years. The beginning of the sixth seal occurs immediately after the tribulation period. It covers the sixth trumpet and the sixth vial. The end of the sixth seal occurs with the seventh trumpet and the seventh trumpet occurs a little before the seventh seal. The end of the sixth seal, the seventh vial and the seventh trumpet occur after Jesus returns and after He has reigned for 1000 years.
Before you disagree with my opinions on the book of Revelation please read them all. (It's a lot of reading but it's worth it.) For any mistakes found or questions please use the above comments link, thank you! (Comments link is found below chapters on each page.)
Other than the sixth seal I do not go in too much detail with the seals because Revelation chapters 8-20 are these same seals and there they will be explained in better detail. However, it's still important to read the seals.
Revelation 6- Israel's judgments begin. The four horsemen (trumpets one thru four)
The first seal- the bow, the crown and the white horse
Revelation 6: 1And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Had a bow is a present particle meaning it expresses a continuous or repeated action.
This will be the false messiah (christ). He will be a military man at first- the bow. He will invade Israel and then after his death he will be given power to continue for forty and two months and that's when he will be crowned and worshiped. I believe he will pretend to establish the kingdom for Israel- he went forth conquering and to conquer.
The kingdom of God on Earth was taken from them in Jesus' time because they rejected Him and He promised it to a future worthy Israel.
Matthew 21:42Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Acts 1:6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
I believe when he becomes the false messiah (christ) he will pretend to establish the kingdom to Israel.
The True Messiah- The Word of God is on a white horse but with a sword- Revelation 19:11-16.
Jesus the Word of God
Genesis 1:1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Genesis 1:9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Genesis 1:14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Genesis 1:24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The second seal- chaos
Revelation 6:3And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
The earth Greek gēs
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.
The first seal will lead to chaos in the land/region of Israel and peace will be taken and they will kill one another.
Matthew 10:34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Isaiah 3:5And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
The third seal- famine
Revelation 6:5And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
A measure of wheat and barley for a penny- Greek dénarion / a days wage. It's expensive but they're aren't (yet) forced to receive the mark in order to purchase it. The mark of the beast, in order to purchase things, doesn't happen until the fifth seal and fifth trumpet.
Isaiah 3:1For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
Ezekiel 4:16Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment: 17That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
The fourth seal- Death and Hell
Revelation 6:7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
The earth of the earth Greek gēs
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.
The first three seals are the fourth seal: the bow, the sword, and the famine- all the chaos will cause Death and Hell to come. All of this will lead to a pestilence.
Ezekiel 6:21For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Death and Hell kill one fourth of the land
During Israel's judgments two thirds of them will be killed: During the first four seals one third of Israel will be killed. During the sixth seal, trumpet and vial the final one third will be killed. These deaths will purge Israel of its bad seed and the surviving remnant will turn to the True Messiah, Jesus!
Zechariah 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Isaiah 13:9Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Zephaniah 3:11In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
Malachi 3:1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. 2But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: 3And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 4Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
Isaiah 4:2In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. 3And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: 4When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
Isaiah 65:9And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. 8Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
Zephaniah 3:12I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. 13The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
The fourth seal in Revelation only mentions Death and Hell having power over a fourth part of them but Zechariah wrote two thirds will be killed. This is because Zechariah's prophecy is about the seed of Israel and in today's modern Israel we have many non Israelites living there. One fourth is less than one third but when you have a larger population other than Israelites living there the one fourth is actually more than the one third of just Israelites. So a majority of the one fourth being killed during the first four seals will be Israelites and they will be one third of the two thirds of Israel which are going to be killed. The final one third of Israel will be killed in Revelation nine and sixteen during the sixth seal, trumpet and vial.
The final one third- Revelation 9:18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Revelation cont'd- The fifth seal- the martyrs
Revelation 6:9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Verse 11- ' and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
During the first four seals the people were dying because of the chaos, hunger, and pestilence but now after the first four seals the fifth trumpet is about to blow and the false messiah (christ) will be revealed. What timing, huh?
Now during the fifth seal is when the Christians will be killed and martyred for not worshipping the false messiah (christ) and it's only these martyrs along with the previous martyrs who will be resurrected near the second coming of Christ- the first resurrection. All others will be resurrected at the end, after Jesus has reigned.
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
Revelation six cont'd- the sixth seal
Again, I didn't go into much detail with the first five seals because I believe they will better explained with the first five trumpets. However I do believe it's important to go into more detail with the sixth seal. The sixth seal actually begins immediately after the tribulation and continues on one thousand years to the day of judgment (Revelation 20:7-15)
Revelation 6:12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
1. Earthquake, sun darkened and moon as blood
2. Stars fell to the earth even as a fig tree casted her untimely figs
3. Heaven departed as a scroll that is rolled together
4. Every mountain and island moved
5. Him that sits on the throne
1. Earthquake, sun darkened and moon as blood
The sixth seal begins with an earthquake. This earthquake is the earthquake of Revelation 11:13 & 16:18 and it takes place during the sixth trumpet and seventh vial. The sun becomes black and the moon becomes as blood, and by reading other scripture we learn when this happens the final onslaught on Israel occurs. During this attack; the final one third are killed, the remnant turn to God and Jesus their Messiah (Christ) returns and saves them.
Joel 2:10The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
(These are the armies of the sixth trumpet and sixth vial.)
Joel 2:31The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Matthew 24:29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Zephaniah 1:7Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. 8And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
This New Living Translation makes more sense.
New Living Translation
Zephaniah 1:8 "On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish the leaders and princes of Judah and all those following pagan customs.
(Zephaniah continued)
Zephaniah 1:9In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
(Leap on the threshold- idolatry see 1 Samuel 5:5.)
This will be the end of the tribulation period and some of them will have been worshipping the false messiah (christ).
(Zephaniah continued.)
Zephaniah 1:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills. 11 Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off. 12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil. 13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof. 14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. 15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, 16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. 17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Joel 2:1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. 7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: 8Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. 9They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. 10The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
Verse 3- The land is as the garden of Eden before them- these will be muslim countries desiring to eliminate Israel and take the promise land.
Verse 4- The appearance of them is as the appearances of horses- the sixth trumpet in Revelation 9:13-19.
Joel 2:30And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Zechariah 12:3And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
2. Stars fell to the earth even as a fig tree casted her untimely figs
The stars fall is the war in heaven and the stars / the fallen angels are permanently expelled from heaven. (Revelation 12:7-12) The fig tree casting her untimely figs is the final one third of Israel, the fig tree, being killed. They're in the land untimely / prematurely. God hasn't yet restored it to them and the land does not belong to those who will be shaken of thee tree. The untimely figs fall when she is shaken of a mighty wind. The wind is the trumpet and vial judgments see my Revelation 7:1-3. The final one third will be killed during the sixth seal, trumpet and vial.
The stars / fallen angels fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
(The powers of the heavens shaken- The devil and his angels are expelled permanently from heaven.)
Israel the fig tree
Hosea 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
(See also my Revelation 8:8-9 for more of the fig tree.)
(The untimely figs will be the final one third killed in Revelation 9:13-21, 14:6-12, 16:12-19 & 17-18.)
The sixth seal continued
3. Heaven departed as a scroll that is rolled together.
Revelation 6:14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
The heaven departed....
(The heaven separated/parted....)
Departed Greek apechōristhē
From apochórizó
Short Definition: I separate from
Definition: I separate from; mid: I part; pass: I am swept aside.
The heavens separated / parted for Jesus to come through.
Revelation 19:11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Isaiah 64:1Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
(rend/tear)
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together.
(A rolled together scroll i.e. A closed book.)
Jesus comes through the parted heaven fulfilling His word on the nation of Israel. (All surviving Israelites will receive the new covenant (testament). (Zechariah 12:10 etc.)
("It is done." Revelation 16:17-21- the seventh vial.)
4. Every mountain and island moved out of their place
The mountains moved
Zechariah prophesied these same events: Israel attacked, the mountains move and the return of Jesus.
Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[(Verse 4- the mount of Olives shall cleave (split).]
Isaiah 64:1Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
(Most English translations have the mountains as quaking / trembling.)
New American Standard Version
Isaiah 64:1Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, That the mountains might quake at Your presence--
The islands moved
Island Greek νῆσος transliteration nēsos
First of all, the Greek word for Island is nēsos and other than Revelation sixteen there's no other Bible prophecies concerning 'islands' moving. So as I was researching nēsos ('island') I came across a Wikipedia Discussion: Hypothesis on Atlantis and after I read it I was convinced that the translators got the 'island' translation wrong.
Below are copied sections of their discussion. I haven't altered anything but added red for νῆσος, nēsos ('island') and I underlined relevant parts.
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discusión:Hipótesis_sobre_la_Atlántida
My issue is correct. It corresponds to the definitions of lexicons and dictionaries updated. For example, in the French dictionaries, German and Spanish. νῆσος appears as "island or peninsula", and even the other meanings known (delta, fluvial soil or alluvial soil) is introduced, demonstrating that French scholars, German and Spanish, the two most commonly used meanings are "Island "and" Peninsula ";
(Odyssey, Homer, 1.49, VIII BC), does all the islands are not surrounded by water ?, of course you do, unless νῆσος also meant other things, as 'peninsula', 'delta', or 'river / alluvial soil' or 'flooded land', for example, which are equally meanings of the word νῆσος .
Refutes Cesarosofo: this point besides being a mere subjective speculation on your part, is not relevant to this discussion, because we are not here arguing that Atlantis Nêsos should be translated as "Atlantis Island" or "Peninsula Atlantis" ; what we are discussing here is the use and meaning that had the word νῆσος since ancient Greek times, and even the time of Plato, and even later. In addition, you forget (conveniently, of course) that the first translations were made into Latin the Timaeus and Critias are medieval, in a very remote ancient Greek, where many words had already lost the original meanings time, and the word νῆσος is An example of this type of words, as in medieval times, some Christian authors (not all, by the way) did not know the original broader meaning of the word and νῆσος , believed that only translated as νῆσος , or simply in doubt they preferred this translation, because in medieval times the generic sense of the Greek word νῆσος was the 'island', and very few authors knew that was also used in ancient times to 'peninsula', 'delta', 'river land '' flooded land ', etc.
(Wikipedia Hypothesis: Discussion on Atlantis ended.)
Anyhow and apologies, the purpose of the above Atlantis Discussion was to show the King James Bible translators may have translated nēsos (island) incorrectly and to me there's no doubt they did. I believe nēsos in Revelation 6:14 should of been translated coastlands.
Old Testament example
Isaiah 42:15I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
(Today) He will make the rivers into islands makes no sense!
The New American Standard Bible translates it into coastlands which makes much more sense.
Isaiah 42:15“I will lay waste the mountains and hills And wither all their vegetation; I will make the rivers into coastlands And dry up the ponds.
One definition for nēsos (island) in the French, German and Spanish dictionaries is fluvial soil.
Fluvial is a term used in geography and geology to refer to the processes associated with rivers and streams and the deposits and landforms created by them.
Israel's coastlands
According to Wikipedia there's forty-eight rivers in Israel. It also has coastlands from the Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Galilee, Dead sea and the Red sea.
[(All of Israel's western border (170 miles long) is coastline and it has 156 miles of coastline on the eastern border (the Jordan River).]
I don't believe the sixth seal should read every mountain and island were moved but it should be every mountain and coastland were moved (they trembled / they shook) As you read below there will be water in many places where there wasn't before and the land of Israel will be going through major changes.
Mountains and coastlands moved
Zechariah 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. 11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
(Verse 10- from Geba to Rimmon the land turns into a plain.)
Isaiah 35:3Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. 4Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. 5Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. 7And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 8And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
Isaiah 41:18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
Zechariah 14:1-11 is similar to the sixth seal- Israel is attacked, Jesus returns and the mountains and coastlands moved out of their places.
Zechariah 14:1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 10All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. 11And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
With the return of Jesus; Jerusalem is lifted up and safely inhabited and the one-thousand year reign of Jesus begins. (Revelation 19:11- 16, 14:1, 14:14-20 & Revelation 20:4-6)
(After the one-thousand year, it's the day of judgment- the great day of His wrath (Revelation 20:7-15) and the seventh trumpet begins and the seventh seal will be opened.
Revelation Six- the sixth seal continued
4. Him that sits on the throne
Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Above Jesus's wrath has already been poured and He has returned and now it's Him that sits on the throne- the day of judgment.
Revelation 20:11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation combines both the Lamb's wrath with Him that sits on the throne because the next chapter answers the sixth seal's question.
Revelation 6:17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Revelation Seven
Revelation seven is an interlude between the sixth and seventh seal. It's purpose is to answer the twofold question of Revelation six and it takes place before Israel's judgments (seals, trumpets, and vitals) begin.
Revelation 6:17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Revelation 7- the wind
Revelation 7:1And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Of the earth the earth Greek gēs and gēn
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region
John Saw four angels holding the wind so that it wouldn't blow. The fifth angel cried to the four telling them not to hurt the earth, the sea nor the trees until he has sealed the servants of God. The earth here is the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 7:1Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land. 3Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations. 4And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 5Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come. 6An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come. 7The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains. 8Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Israel's judgments will begin soon after the wind blows. They will fulfill God's word on Israel purging away the bad seed from Israel and bringing spiritual life to the good seed.
Psalms 1:4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Psalms 148:8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
With the blowing of the wind comes spiritual life for Israel.
Ezekiel 37:1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. 4Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 7So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
This is not a resurrection. It's symbolic and it's Israel receiving spiritual life.
Ezekiel 37:11Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 12Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 14And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
Verse 14 'And shall put my Spirit in you and ye shall live'- they're spiritually dead.
John 5:25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Colossians 2:13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Ephesians 5:14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
This is also explained in Isaiah 66:8-14.
Isaiah 66:7Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
Before her (Israel) tribulation and before her pain came Jesus was born.
Isaiah 66:8Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Who has heard or seen such a thing? Can a nation be born at once? as soon as Zion went through tribulation her children came forth.
Isaiah 66:9Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. 10Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: 11That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. 12For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. 14And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
Verse fourteen- when you see this.... your bones shall flourish. They will have life.
Paul also described Israel being received again as life from the dead.
Romans 11:7What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day 9And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always. 11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
The wind will blow idolatry from the land and those who trust in the Lord shall possess the land.
Isaiah 57:13When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
New International Version
Isaiah 57:13When you cry out for help, let your collection of idols save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But whoever takes refuge in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain."
Revelation seven continued- the 144,000 are sealed
Revelation 7:4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
[(Sealed) 2 Corinthians 1:21Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. and Ephesians 1:12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, and 2 Timothy 2:19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.)]
When the wind blows; Ezekiel reads as if an army is brought to life but there are other meanings for the Hebrew word for army.
Ezekiel 37:8And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
Army Greek ḥa-yil
The Hebrew word ḥa-yil (army) is used ninety-eight times in the King James Bible and it's translated with different English words; able, valiant, for the war, army and valor to name a few.
ḥa-yil comes from chayil which comes from chuwl (transliterations) and below one of the definitions in the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance for chuwl is worthy (ily)
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance
able, activity, army, band of men soldiers, company, great forces, goods, host,
ḥa-yil from chuwl; probably a force, whether of men, means or other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength -- able, activity, (+) army, band of men (soldiers), company, (great) forces, goods, host, might, power, riches, strength, strong, substance, train, (+) valiant(-ly), valour, virtuous(-ly), war, worthy(-ily).
And in 1 Kings 1 ḥa-yil the Hebrew word translated army is actually translated with if he shew himself a worthy man.
1 Kings 1:52And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
Another Strong's Exhaustive Concordance definition is virtue.

Merriam-Webster.Com
Chastity: the quality or state of being chaste: as
a: abstention from unlawful sexual intercourse
b: abstention from all sexual intercourse
c: purity in conduct and intention
d: restraint and simplicity in design or expression
The other meanings for ḥa-yil (army) are worthy, virtue, moral excellence, merit and chastity and these describe future Israel more so than army. They describe the 144,000.
The 144,000
Revelation 14:3And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
In Ezekiel thirty-seven the Hebrew word ḥa-yil for army is translated riches in Ezekiel twenty-eight .
Ezekiel 28:4With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
1n Zechariah when future Israel is saved they are described as stones of a crown- riches.
Zechariah 9:14And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. 15The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. 16And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. 17For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
The 144,000 are the first Israelites in Israel which will be sealed. Then the wind blows bringing judgments and tribulation upon Israel. These judgments and tribulation will bring spiritual life to Israel's good seed and then the rest of them, world wide, will be sealed.
Zechariah 12:10And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. 11In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
Ezekiel 11:17Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
The wrath
The sixth seal ended by asking who shall be able to stand the wrath? This is a twofold question.
Revelation 6:16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
There's Him that sits on the throne's wrath which is the day of judgment and there's the wrath of the Lamb which is God's wrath and Jesus vengeance on Israel.
The wrath of the Lamb
Luke 21:20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
Revelation 617For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Jesus answers this question in Luke 21. The answer is simple; it's those who are worthy.
Luke 21:34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Earth Greek gēs
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.
The 144,000 will be sealed and they will be worthy. They will understand God's word and they will escape the wrath of the Lamb by fleeing to the mountains.
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before.
Isaiah 32:14Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? 15He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; 16He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
Zephaniah 2:1Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; 2Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you. 3Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
At the end of Israel's judgments, it's only the 144,000 who are worthy to stand before the Lamb.
Revelation 14:1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
The wrath of Him that sits on the throne- the day of judgment.
Revelation 20:11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
The second answer to the twofold question is answered below. It's God's chosen people- the Lamb's wife. ("For many are called, but few are chosen.") They will have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. They will escape the wrath of Him that sits on the throne. (Him that sits on the throne- Revelation 20:7-15.)
Revelation seven cont'd- those who escape the wrath of Him that sits on the throne
Revelation 7:9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. 13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Verses 10 & 16- 'Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne and unto the Lamb' - 'neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat' is escaping the fiery wrath of God (salvation from the fire).
They are only in the temple and before the throne of God in heaven because they washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Verse 14- 'These are they which came out of great tribulation'
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
(The kingdom of God is heaven- Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.)
(Please read thekingdomofheaven.org (home page and the children of God) for more information on those who escape the fiery wrath of God the bride of Christ.)
Next in Revelation, the seventh seal, is the rest in heaven.
Revelation Eight
The end of the Bible, the book of Revelation, was written just like the beginning of the Bible. Genesis one covers the six days of creation and then chapter two begins with God resting on the seventh day. Then beginning with verse four; Genesis chapter two again describes the creation of man but in more detail.
Revelation is the same way; in chapter six John wrote the six seals and the great day of His wrath, then chapter seven is a interlude. Chapter seven answered the question of the sixth seal- for the great day of His wrath is come who shall be able to stand? and after it's answered in Revelation eight the seventh seal is opened.
Once the seventh seal is opened; just as Genesis chapter two explained the six days in more detail, Revelation eight through twenty will explain the six seals in more detail.
Then in Revelation twenty-one through twenty-two His wrath is complete and the new heaven and earth are described.
Revelation eight- the seventh seal (the rest)
Revelation 8:1And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
The sixth seal ended with the wrath of Him that sat on the throne- the day of judgment and now the seventh seal takes place after Jesus delivers the kingdom up to the Father. The seventh seal happens between the end of Revelation twenty and twenty-one.
On the seventh day, after creation, God rested from His work and during the seventh seal God again alongside the bride of Christ will rest. The silence is only in heaven because the fiery judgment on earth continues. After the fiery judgment is finished Revelation twenty-one begins.
Genesis 2:1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The kingdom delivered
1 Corinthians 15:24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
After the silence and after His rest
Revelation 21:1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Revelation 21:5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Revelation eight cont'd- seven angels and seven trumpets
Revelation 8:2And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
Revelation eight cont'd- an angel casts down his golden censer
Revelation 8:3And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 5And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
God's judgments are beginning - and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. God's major judgments begin this way see the seventh trumpet in Revelation 11:19 and the seventh vial in Revelation 16:18.
Revelation eight cont'd- the angels prepare to blow
Revelation 8:6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
The first four trumpets coincide with the first four seals.
The first trumpet- Jerusalem seized
Revelation 8:7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
The angel had a golden censer and cast it down into the earth.
The first trumpet blew and hail and fire mixed with blood was cast to the eartg.
The hail and fire mixed with blood is a angry army going after Jerusalem.
A prophecy concerning Ephraim and Jerusalem- the hail shall be cast down by hand
Isaiah 28:1Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!2Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. 3The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: 4And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up. 5In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, 6And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
Ephraim: son of Joseph; descendants of Joseph formed a tribe named Ephraim; Ephraim also the name of their territory and descendants of Ephraim; Ephraim here are Israelites and/or the territory they lived on.
The prophecy concerning Ephraim and Jerusalem cont'd-
This prophecy is being fulfilled with the second trumpet and also takes place during the first four seals- Death and Hell
Isaiah 28:14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. 15Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
(Death and Hell- the first four seals.)
18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. 19From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report. 20For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it. 21For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. 22Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
This is beginning of Israel's judgments; the first four seals- Death and Hell.
When the overflowing scourge passes through, they shall be trodden down by it- Jerusalem will be taken and trodden down by the Gentiles Revelation 11:1-2.
Consumption Hebrew ḵā-lāh: completion, complete destruction, consumption, annihilation
(This prophecy isn't for the whole earth but to the crown of Ephraim and Jerusalem's leaders- the modern day land of Israel.)
Upon the whole earth Hebrew hā-’ā-reṣ. From erets: earth, land
The above prophecy was written between the seventh and eighth century BC but it wasn't meant for them. In verse fifteen He speaks of a covenant which they had with death and an agreement they had with hell. Then in verse fifteen He says they said 'when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us'. Then in sixteen He says 'Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation, he that believeth shall not make haste' meaning because of those things Jesus, the stone, will be coming. Thus, the prophecy switches to a future Ephraim and future Jerusalem.
(After this prophecy is Isaiah chapter twenty-nine the woe to Ariel/ Jerusalem chapter.)
Death and Hell continue through the first four trumpets.
Revelation eight cont'd- the third part of the trees and all of the grass will be burnt up
Revelation 8:7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
The first trumpet blows and the hail comes and the third part of the trees are burnt up and all green grass is burnt up.
When the hail comes the city will be in a low humiliating place. (Jerusalem will be seized and taken.)
Isaiah 32:19When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
King James 2000
Isaiah 32:19When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be brought low in humiliation.
The forest here is the land of Israel.
Jeremiah 21:11And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD; 12O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. 13Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations? 14But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
The forest is the land of Israel, the trees are its leaders and the green grass are the people.
The king of Assyria as a cedar tree.
Ezekiel 31:1And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness? 3Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
King Nebuchadnezzar described as a tree.
Daniel 4:20The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; 21Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation: 22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
People are grass.
Isaiah 40:6The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
The one third of the trees burnt up will be Israel's leaders angry (not Palestine's). Today's Israel is governed by three groups- Israel governs Israel, the Islamic movement Hamas governs the Palestinian controlled Gaza Strip and the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Authority controls the Palestinian controlled West Bank.
The green grass burnt up will be all the people in the land angry. (Both Palestinians and Israelis.) This will be (part of) the chaos described in the second seal- that they should kill one another.
Revelation 8 cont'd- the second trumpet. Israel becomes Palestine
Revelation 8:8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Jesus spoke about the fig tree and about the mountain being cast into the sea.
Matthew 21:18Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. 19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
The fig tree
Jesus came to establish the earthly Kingdom of God but they rejected Him. Therefore He took the kingdom from them and promised it to another nation.
44And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Jesus is the stone they rejected Isaiah 28:16, Ephesians 2:19-20 and 1 Peter 2:4-7 etc.).
Fourteen verses before telling them about the kingdom being taken from them He came across the fig tree.
Ever Greek aiōna (not literally for ever)
From aiōn
Short Definition: an age, a cycle of time
Definition: an age, a cycle (of time), especially of the present age as contrasted with the future age, and of one of a series of ages stretching to infinity.
The withering fig tree represented Judaea (Israel) and soon after Jesus' death Jerusalem's temple and Jerusalem were destroyed, and the Israelites were scattered away from Judaea.
Here's another prophecy concerning Israel- as a fig tree being cast away.
Joel 1:6For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion. 7He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
Immediately after the fig tree withered Jesus spoke about the mountain.
Matthew 21:20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Be thou removed is the same Greek root word for shall be taken as when Jesus told them the kingdom of God would be taken from them (above).
Be thou removed Greek Arthēti & Greek arthēsetai shall be taken in Matthew 21:43 (above).
Arthēti and arthēseta both from airó
Short Definition: I raise, lift up
Definition: I raise, lift up, take away, remove.
The mountain will be taken away (removed).
The mountain is the state of Israel and when Jerusalem is seized the land of Israel will also be taken away from Israel and it will be given to the Palestinians. It will become Palestine and Jerusalem will be it's capital.
Revelation 11:1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
A Old Testament example of a kingdom being a burnt mountain.
Isaiah 17:24And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD. 25Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
(Babylon was not on a mountain, it was situated on a plain. A mountain is symbolic of a kingdom.)
It's premature for Israel to possess the land. However, when Jesus returns He will set up the mountain- the earthly kingdom of God.
Daniel 2:34Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
The stone cut out without hands is Jesus and it's the same stone they rejected. The stone is cut without hand- He isn't manmade. At His coming He destroys the ten nations (toes) which try to eradicate Israel and then He sets up a great mountain- the earthly kingdom of God.
Daniel 2:42And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
(The ten toes of Daniel in Revelation 9:13-21, Revelation 16:12-16 & Revelation 17:10-18. His return in Revelation 14:14-20. His return and the kingdom being set up in Revelation 14:1-5. His return, the ten toes and the kingdom being set up in Revelation 19:11-20:6.)
When Mystery Babylon (Jerusalem / Israel) is destroyed it's described like a great millstone being cast into the sea. (Mystery Babylon is the land and people of Jerusalem / Israel, see my Revelation 17-18.)
Revelation 18:21And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
The mountain, Israel, is cast into the sea and it becomes Palestine.
(The beast- the false messiah (christ) is three trumpets away- Revelation 9:1-12. It will be good timing.)
Revelation eight cont'd- one third part of the sea becomes blood and the third part of the creatures die
Revelation 8:8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
The third part of the sea is the Israeli side of Palestine wounded to death.
Again, one third of Israel is under Israeli controll and two thirds Palestinian control and when this happens the Israeli part will be wounded becoming Palestine.
Of the creatures Greek ktismatōn
From ktisma
Short Definition: a created thing, creature
Definition: a created thing, a creature.
Ktismatōn ('of the creatures') is used only twice in the King James Bible; once here and the other below in James 1:18. The creatures are humans.
James 1:17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
So with the first two trumpets Jerusalem and Israel will be taken. This also occurs with the first four seals. Also during these events, one third of Israel will be killed and that's what's happening here. The one third of the creatures that die will be the first one third of Israel that will be killed. The final one third are killed during the sixth trumpet.
(Zechariah 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
(The final one third)- Revelation 9:18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.)
Revelation eight cont'd- one third of the ships destroyed
Revelation 8:8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
The ships will be part of Israel's defense and trade and as they're destroyed Israel falls and Palestine rises.
Mark 3:24And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
Revelation 8 cont'd- the third trumpet. Wormwood
Revelation 8:10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
Wormwood is a plant with a bitter taste. In the Old Testament wormwood was synonymous with bitter or bitterness. Hemlock or Wormwood is also the bitter and unrighteous fruit which comes forth because of idolatry.
Amos 6:12Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
(Turned the fruit of righteousness into wormwood.)
Into hemlock Hebrew lə-la-‘ă-nāh
From laanah
Short Definition: wormwood
Aside from the Old Testament wormwood is only mentioned here.
The first use of wormwood was when God made a covenant with Israel- He is their God and they're His people.
Deuteronomy 29:10Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, 11Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: 12That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: 13That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; 15But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day: 16(For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by; 17And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)
First use of wormwood
Deuteronomy 29:18Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
(Verse 29- He will be their God 'lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood' later.)
Here in Revelation a star burning as a lamp named and called Wormwood falls from heaven.
(The name/ his character/ his reputation is called Wormwood meaning he brings wormwood/bitterness and unrighteousness.)
The name Greek onoma
Short Definition: name, character, reputation
Definition: name, character, fame, reputation
Greek ónoma; (figuratively) the manifestation or revelation of someone's character, i.e. as distinguishing them from all others.

This star is is called Wormwood and with it God's warnings to Israel will be concluded and idolatry will also come to its end.
Is called From légō (originally, "lay down to sleep," used later of "laying an argument to rest," i.e. bringing a message to closure; see Curtius, Thayer) – properly, to say (speak), moving to a conclusion (bringing it to closure, "laying it to rest").
HELPS Word-studies copyright © 1987, 2011 by Helps Ministries, Inc.
The star Wormwood is a fallen angel. Just as the star in the fifth trumpet will be.
Revelation 9:1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
Just as the stars cast down to the earth are angels
Revelation 12:3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:
Revelation 12:9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Just as the star of Bethlehem delivered a message; when these events are going on the Jews will receive a false message of salvation and that their messiah (christ) is coming.
'Burning as it were a lamp' is symbolic for Wormwood spreading his false promise of salvation.
Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
I believe Paul also warned about Wormwood.
Galatians 1:6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Revelation 8 cont'd- rivers and fountains of waters and wormwood and death
Revelation 8:10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
The rivers and the fountains / springs of water are symbolic of the wormwood easily flowing through the land- everyone hears the message about the messiah (christ) coming and though it's false many of the people will believe it. This is the root that bears wormwood which God warned the Israelites about.
Deuteronomy 29:18Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
(Lest there be a root that bears the unrighteous fruit of gall/poison and wormwood- the root is the star called Wormwood who will turn many bitter.)
Gall Hebrew ḥă-maṯ
From rosh (transliteration)
Short Definition: poison
Wormwood will spread his gall / poison and wormwood leading many to die spiritually.
Revelation 8:11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
Many Greek polloi
From polýs – many (high in number); multitudinous, plenteous, "much"; "great" in amount (extent).

(And many people died out of the waters.)
Men Greek anthrópon from anthrópos: a man, human, mankind
Of Greek ek
Short Definition: from out, out from among, from
Definition: from out, out from among, from, suggesting from the interior outwards.
(Here are a few examples of Greek ek in Revelation translated with out of.)
Revelation 1:16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Revelation 2:5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Revelation 17:8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
And the third part of the waters became wormwood- bitter i.e. spiritually dead. The waters are peoples, multitudes, nationalities & tongues / languages.
Revelation 17:15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
(The seed of the whore (those who worship the beast) see Revelation 17 & 18.)
The people that die spiritually out of the water will be the final one third killed during the sixth trumpet in Revelation 9:13-21, Revelation 14:9-12, Revelation 16:17-21 and Revelation 17-18.
Today's Jews aren't committing idolatry. They're worshipping God but they don't believe Jesus is Him. When these events are happening they will hear about a messiah (christ) coming and they will believe him to be their savior and when this happens they will officially deny Jesus and becoming permanently defiled. I believe the writer of Hebrews warned them about this Wormwood.
Hebrews 12:14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Lest any root of bitterness is a specific root, it's the wormwood of Deuteronomy 19:18 and the Wormwood of Revelation 8:11.
Any Greek tis
Short Definition: any one, some one
Definition: any one, some one, a certain one or thing.
Be defiled is from the Greek word miaínō – properly, to stain (with paint or dye); (figuratively) to stain (defile) the soul, i.e. like when sin taints by its polluting effects ("moral, spiritual stains").
(Deuteronomy 29:18Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
Once they believe the false message they will be leaving their previous standing. They will totally depart from God and they will begin idolatry. I believe this Wormwood is the apostasy.
2 Thessalonians 2:2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
A falling away Greek apostasia
apostasía (from aphístēmi, "leave, depart," which is derived from apó, "away from" and histémi, "stand") – properly, departure (implying desertion); apostasy – literally, "a leaving, from a previous standing."

(He sits in the temple in Jerusalem.)
(God sending them 'strong delusion' so that they will believe a lie [the (false) messiah is coming] will begin the falling away.)
The false messiah (christ) is two trumpets away.
I believe the seventy weeks of Daniel begin during the third trumpet and end during the fifth trumpet and fifth seal.
My explanation of the seventy weeks is next (Daniel 9:24-27).
