The Seventy weeks (Daniel 9:24-27)
I know how most people interpret the seventy weeks but as you will read I see them quite differently. The way most people interpret them doesn't make sense to me. It seems to be that they forced them to fit their opinions. It is even read in Daniel that the angel's words are closed up and sealed till the end. Closed up and sealed till the end meaning they can't be understood until the end. I believe these seventy weeks occur at the end of first four seals and at the end of the third trumpet and I believe they end with the fifth trumpet.
Daniel 12:5Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
During trumpets one and two the hail came down on Israel and it became Palestine and it's at that time when the daily sacrifices will be stopped.
Daniel 12:11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
The daily sacrifices are taken away and then 1290 days later the abomination of desolation is set up.
Daniel 9:24-27- seventy weeks are decreed....
Daniel 9:24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Weeks Hebrew šā·ḇu·‘îm
From shabua (transliteration)
Short Definition: weeks
Many people translate or interpret this as seventy sevens. They break down the seventy weeks into seventy groups of sevens (weeks)- each seven (week) is a seven year period totaling four hundred and ninety years. They believe the first sixty-nine sevens (weeks) or four hundred and eighty three years have been fulfilled and the final seven years (week) is still future.
A week equaling seven years-
In Genesis 29:7-8, the above root word shabua is used and it's translated week. It's a seven year period but the same verse also explains the week is seven years. In Daniel's seventy weeks there's no such explanation.
Genesis 29:27Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. 28And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.
Though a week in the Bible could be a seven year period I believe Daniel's weeks are literal weeks. In the above Daniel prophecy, verse twenty-four, the Hebrew word šā-ḇu-‘îm was used for weeks. It's used there, down down below in verse twenty-five where it's also translated weeks and right below in Daniel 10:2-3, where it's translated and meant three weeks, not twenty-one years.
Daniel 10:2In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. 3I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
They interpret or translate the weeks into sevens because they believe in verse twenty-five (down down below) the prophecy contains a prophecy regarding Jesus. However; as you will read, I don't believe the prophecy contains any prophecy regarding Jesus.

6. To anoint the most Holy. (Down down below.)
These will be their last days (70 weeks) to escape the coming wrath because once the abomination of desolation is set up it will be too late for them.
These six things will be done by the 144,000.
1. To prevent from doing the transgression; don't believe in the coming false messiah.
2. To make an end for sins.
3. To make reconciliation. (To appease God- to cleanse / purge themselves.)
4. To bring in everlasting righteousness.
5. To seal up / stop the vision and prophecy.
6. To anoint the most Holy.
1 thru 4
We know the 144,000 will be sealed and won't believe in the coming false messiah but they also will make an end of sins and will bring in everlasting righteousness.
Revelation 7:4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
(2 Timothy 2:19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.)
Revelation 14:4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
(No guile and without fault = they perfected holiness. Please read thekingdomofheaven.org for more on perfecting holiness.)
5 thru 6
To seal up / stop the vision and prophecy.
First things first, what is the vision and prophecy?
I assure you it isn't the seventy weeks. The seventy weeks are the explanation for the vision: Before the seventy weeks were mentioned, Gabriel explained to Daniel the reason for his visit was to give him understanding about the vision.
Daniel 7:21Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Daniel's vision and prophecy for the most part was about the little horn, the false messiah, and him making war with the holy people / saints and prevailing against them.
Daniel 7:8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:20And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Daniel 7:24And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
It's the same in Revelation thirteen.
Revelation 13:7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Remember they're to seal up / stop the vision and prophecy and there's no other part of the vision or prophecy that people can stop. The 144,000 won't believe in the coming false messiah, they make an end of sins, they will be reconciled and they will bring in everlasting righteousness. They also will stop the vision and prophecy- the beast will not prevail / overcome against them. They will see the abomination of desolation and flee to the mountains and there they will anoint the most 'Holy.'
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18Neither let him which is in the field return back t take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before.
(They have been warned- verse 25.)
Here's another warning in Zephaniah to gather together and seek righteousness so they will be hid from the LORD'S anger.
Zephaniah 2:1Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; 2Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you. 3Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
6. To anoint the most Holy
The 144,000 will also anoint the most Holy.
First off Holy is Hebrew qā-ḏā-šîm. It's used twenty-five in the King James Bible and it's ONLY capitalized here.
The King James Bible translated it to anoint the most Holy but most other translations have it anoint the most holy place. Holy place makes sense because of the words that are used.
New American Standard Bible
Daniel 9:24"Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.
(Anoint / to consecrate.)

The most and Holy Hebrew qō-ḏeš and qā-ḏā-šîm
From qodesh (transliteration) apartness, sacredness
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance
consecrated thing, dedicated thing, hallowed thing, holiness, most holy day, portion, thing, saint,
(To anoint holy holy.)
Both the most Hebrew qō-ḏeš and Holy Hebrew qā-ḏā-šîm are from Hebrew qodesh which means holy. In the King James Bible when the Hebrew word qodesh is used side by side it's referring to the most holy things. The most holy things include temple worship or the temple itself. Inside the temple was the holy of holies (holy holy) or the most holy and it's where the ark of the covenant was housed and where God would dwell. It was holy holy (most holy).
1 Kings 6:15And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir. 16And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.
1 Kings 8:6And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
It was in the holy holy and above the mercy seat in the ark of the covenant where God would meet them.
Exodus 25:21And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. 22And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
There were a number of strict guidelines before the high priest could even enter, most importantly, he had to be cleansed and purged.
This is exactly what Gabriel is telling them in Daniel. They will have seventy weeks to prevent from doing the transgression (believing in the coming false messiah), to make an end for sins, to make reconciliation (to appease God- to cleanse/purge) to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up (stop) the vision and prophecy and finally to anoint the most holy.
To anoint / consecrate the most holy- God's house.
An Old Testament example- Jacob's ladder
(Genesis 31:13I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.)
Genesis 28:10And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. 1And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. 12And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 13And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; 14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. 15And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. 16And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. 17And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. 18And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 19And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. 20And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: 22And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
Verse seventeen- 'And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God and this is the gateway to heaven.'
Their future temple is about to become polluted with the abomination of desolation and with the false messiah sitting in it.
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
2 Thessalonians 2:4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
The 144,000's prayers and tears will anoint / consecrate the return place of Jesus and where God's future house will be established.
2 Kings 20:5Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
Ezekiel 7:15The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him. 16But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
Isaiah 2:2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Revelation 14:1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
During the third trumpet the Israelites will have seventy weeks to o prevent from doing the transgression (believing in the coming false messiah), to make an end for sins, to make reconciliation (to appease God- to cleanse/purge) to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up (stop) the vision and prophecy and finally to anoint the most holy before the abomination of desolation is set up and it will only be the 144,000 who accomplish these things and who will escape the wrath and stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
After Gabriel told them what needed to be done he expounded on what would happen during the seventy weeks.
The seventy weeks
Daniel 7:25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Destroy from the Hebrew word shachath: perhaps to go to ruin. (Also translated corrupt.)
Unto the Messiah and shall Messiah both Hebrew mā·šî·aḥ
It's my contention this 'Messiah' is the false messiah. The only other use of mā·šî·aḥ in the King James Bible is in 1 Samuel 1:21 and there it's basically translated not anointed.
Hebrew mā·šî·aḥ English as though he had not been anointed
2 Samuel 1:21Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
As though he had and been aren't in the original Hebrew. The original Hebrew is simply not anointed. The New American Standard Bible has it translated simply as not anointed.
New American Standard Bible
1 Samuel 1:21“O mountains of Gilboa, Let not dew or rain be on you, nor fields of offerings; For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.
Other adjectives describing the non anointed shield are vilely and defile both of which are perfect adjectives to describe the false messiah.
So if Saul's shield was not anointed it's my opinion that this 'mā·šî·aḥ the Prince' will be the not anointed prince- the false prince.
After Israel has become Palestine it won't officially have a leader. It will be a time of chaos with prophecies of the coming messiah running rampant. (Wormwood.) Then nearly two years after Jerusalem's destruction they will begin to rebuild and it will be rebuilt in seven weeks. There will be a military man who invaded Israel will be friendly toward Israel and will be liked by both Palestinians and Israelis and sixty-two weeks after Jerusalem is rebuilt and during the sixty-ninth week the military man, the non anointed prince, will be officially crowned the leader of Palestine. During the seventieth week (after sixty-nine weeks) he will agree to allow Israel to worship freely and because of this I believe he will be killed by some of his own people and upon his death the spirit of Apollyon will enter his body (see Revelation 9:1:12) and he will miraculously return to life and many people of Israel will consider and believe him to be their messiah. (In verse twenty-five as he's alive he's 'messiah' (not anointed) prince but then in verse twenty-six regarding his death there's no prince, it's only 'messiah' (not anointed.) He then will cease the sacrifices and oblation. (They aren't taken away as in Daniel 12:11.) Then the abomination of desolation will be set up and he will demand worship of himself. The end thereof will be with a flood and the desolate will be poured on.
(The people of the prince will destroy / corrupt the city and the sanctuary.)
The flood
Verse 26- 'and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined'.
This is flood in Revelation.
Revelation 12:15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
(The flood is the sixth trumpet and then Armageddon. For more on the flood see my Revelation 12:15.)
Until the consummation and the pouring on the desolate,
Verse 27- and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate
This will be the destruction of Mystery Babylon the great. (Those city and the seed of the whore who worship the beast see my Revelation 17-18).
Consummation Hebrew kalah: completion, complete destruction, consumption, annihilation (see Revelation 17-18)
Poured upon the desolate Hebrew šō·mêm (below šō-w-mê-māh) transliterations
From shamem: to be desolated or appalled
Isaiah 54:1-Isaiah 54:1Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD. 2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; 3For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
SING you who didn't travail with child- sing you 144,000 who fled to the mountains / wilderness escaping the Lamb's wrath. There are more children of the desolate than the married wife- there are more whom God is appalled with (the seed of the whore) than His married wife- the 144,000.
Revelation 14:1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
(For more on the woman which didn't travail see my Revelation 12:6 and 12:14.)
The lamb's wrath will be poured upon the desolate / the appalled. (Revelation 16.)
Revelation 16:1And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. 2And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
The tribulation is the Lamb's wrath on Israel. Its purpose is to pass judgment on non elect Israel and to turn elect Israel to their True Messiah Jesus. Toward the ending of the tribulation the remnant will brake down, they will turn to Jesus and when this happens Jesus returns. It's figuratively a woman travailing with child.
John 16:21A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
Matthew 23:37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Revelation eight cont'd-
The fourth trumpet- the tribulation is near
Revelation 8:12And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
Was darkened Greek skotisthē- should be darkened.
Berean Literal Bible
Revelation 8:12And the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them should be darkened, and the day should not appear for a third of it, and the night likewise.
The sun, the moon, and the stars should be darkened for the elect's sake- God will shorten the days for the elect's sake.
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Five verses later
Matthew 24:21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Revelation 8 cont'd- three woes
Revelation 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
The other is from the Greek word loipos: the rest, the remaining.
Most English Bibles, instead of an angel flying, have an eagle flying and it very well could be an eagle; as I just mentioned, the (actual) tribulation is about to start (1/3 of the sun, moon, & stars being darkened- a 24 day be shortened for the elect sake) and the eagle could be flying through the sky (middle of heaven) on its way to assist the 144,000 safely into the wilderness where they will be protected and nourished- Revelation 12:6 & 14.
(New International Version
Revelation 8:13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!")
Revelation 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Revelation eight concludes with the final three trumpets- the three woes, with the next trumpet and first woe being the false messiah (christ).
Matthew 24:21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23Then if any man shall say unto you here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Revelation nine
The fifth trumpet- Apollyon and the locusts
The fifth trumpet takes place during the fifth seal.
Revelation 9:1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
The LORD's furnace- Jerusalem.
Isaiah 31:9And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
This is the beginning of the tribulation. Its purpose is to avenge the prophets, avenge the Lamb, and avenge the apostles, to cut off the non-elect seed of Israel, to purge His elect seed and to bring true Israel back to their land!
Revelation nine cont'd- the locusts
Revelation 9:3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
Of the earth Greek gés
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.
Verse six- 'And in those days shall men seek death and shall not find it and shall desire to die and death shall flee from them' is definitely after the first four seals- Death and hell.
The locusts will not hurt the 144,000 which were sealed by God. Their torment is as a scorpion. They don't have the power to kill but they will be tormented for five months.
The Deathstalker also known as the Israeli Desert Scorpion or the Palestine Yellow Scorpion is the most dangerous scorpion.
A scorpion sting (Mayoclinic.Org)
Signs and symptoms at the site of the sting may include:
Pain, which can be intense
Numbness and tingling in the area around the sting
Slight swelling in the area around the sting
All these symptoms describe chemical weapons, such as the mild effects of Mustard gas. (mustard gas was used recently in Syria) so it's a good chance that it will be chemical weapons.
Mustard gas
Skin: Chemical burns caused by mustard often appear deceptively superficial at first. Earliest symptoms are itching, burning, and stinging pain over exposed areas. Moist, thinner skin is affected more severely. Affected areas appear red and swollen.
The locusts cont'd
Revelation 9:7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
John not only described the locusts but he also described the army behind the locusts.
The shapes or form of the locusts will be as horses prepared for battle- they will have organized military maneuverings.
They will have crowns like gold- they won't be wealthy.
(Compare.)
Revelation 4:4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
They will have faces of men- they will be men.
They will have hair as women- they will be shameful men.
1 Corinthians 15:14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
Zechariah 14:2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
They will have teeth as lion's- they will have ferocious weapons.
Psalm 57:4My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Proverbs 30:14There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
They will have breastplates of iron, their wings will SOUND like chariots of many horses running to battle and they will have tails like scorpions.
The locust army begins with the first trumpet- the hail.
Joel 1:1The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. 2Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? 3Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. 4That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. 5Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth. 6For a nation is come up my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion. 7He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white. 8Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth. 9The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn. 10The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. 11Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. 12The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
Joel 1:1-12 also occurs during the first four seals.
Verse seven and twelve- a nation / the grasshoppers have barked the fig tree and made it clean bare. They cast the fig tree away and it languishes- grows weak and fails to grow. (See my Revelation 8:8 for more on the fig tree.)
Verse nine- the meat and drink offerings are cut off. (See the seventy weeks on top of chapters 8-12.)
Verse ten- the corn is dried up, the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth, and be ashamed for the wheat and barley. Revelation 6:5-6)
The palmerworm, locust, cankerworm and caterpilar are all locusts.
Palmerworm Hebrew gazam: locusts
Locust Hebrew arbeh: (a kind of) locust
Cankerworm Hebrew yeleq: (a kind of) locust
Caterpillar Hebrew chasil: (a kind of) locust
Verse six- for a nation is come up upon my land, the Palestinians.
Each Hebrew word characterizes the different stages of development that a locust goes through and/or the actions taken by the locusts.
(Palmerworm, locust, caterpillar and cankerworm are all translated as different actions of a locust in the NASB below)
New American Standard Bible
Joel 1:4What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten.
Gazam (palmerworm) from an unused root meaning to devour, arbeh (locust) from the root rabhah, "to increase", yeleq (cankerworm)from an unused root meaning to lick up; and chasil (caterpillar) chacal the ravager,
In Joel two they're in a different order and I believe Joel chapter two is the correct order- beginning with last to first. Locusts don't develop their wings until their final stage of development.
Joel 2:25And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
Trumpets one and two- they devour, they ravage and lick everything up and then through the fifth trumpet they increase with strength and fly.
Joel continues the locust army from its beginning unto its end.
Joel 1:13Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God. 14Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD, 15Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. 16Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God? 17The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. 18How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. 19O LORD, to thee will the I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. 20The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
Verse nineteen- "LORD to thee will I cry;" when the surviving remnant cries to the LORD Jesus' return is imminent.
Isaiah 30:18And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. 19For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
(Seven verses later.)
Isaiah 30:26Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound. 27Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
Revelation 9 cont'd- the false messiah Abaddon / Apollyon
Revelation 9:11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. 12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
The locusts had a king over them- John is letting us know the 'locusts' aren't really locusts.
Psalms 30:27The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
Apollyon- the false messiah.
Those who believe in the false messiah Apollyon will be cut off from God and they will perish.
Apollyon from apóllymi (from apó, "away from," which intensifies ollymi, "to destroy") – properly, fully destroy, cutting off entirely (note the force of the prefix, apó).
apóllymi ("violently/completely perish") implies permanent (absolute) destruction, i.e. to cancel out (remove); "to die, with the implication of ruin and destruction" (L & N, 1, 23.106); cause to be lost (utterly perish) by experiencing a miserable end.
[This is also the meaning of apóllymi dating back to Homer (900 bc.]
HELPS Word-studies
The angel Abaddon / Apollyon under the devil's power and authority will enter the lifeless body of the dead leader and he will become the beast / the false messiah (christ).
Revelation 13:3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Revelation 17:8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
The abomination of desolation will be set up and the 144,000 will flee to the mountains.
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
The next trumpet is technically after the tribulation but the way I see it it really ends the tribulation.
Matthew 24:29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Revelation nine cont'd- the sixth trumpet.
Revelation 9:13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
They were prepared for an hour.... This hour will be the end of Mystery Babylon- Jerusalem. (There's absolutely no doubt Mystery Babylon is Jerusalem and the non-elect see of Israel see Revelation seventeen and eighteen.) This hour will be on those who worship the beast and Jesus' return will be closer than ever.
Revelation 17:12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 14These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. 15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Revelation 18:10Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Revelation 18:16And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 17For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
The angels were loosened from the Euphrates- the sixth vial.
Revelation 16:12And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
It also coincides with the beginning of the sixth seal.
Revelation 6:12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
(The fig tree casting her prematurely figs is the final one third killed below.)
Revelation nine cont'd-
Revelation 9:16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
Again John is seeing something he can't describe. He wrote 'and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone' and 'for their power is in their mouth and in their tails, for their tails were like unto serpents and had heads and with them they do hurt' and 'by these three was the third part of men killed.' I think he saw tanks and other modern warfare.
By these one third of man will be killed- these are the one third out of the waters that spiritually died because of Wormwood. (Revelation 8:10-11) They will have believed and worshiped the false messiah (christ) and will be the final one third killed. (For the first one third killed see my Revelation 6:7-8.)
(Zechariah 13:8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.)
Joel- the appearance of them is as horses
Joel 2:1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. 7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: 8Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. 9They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. 10The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
The land is as the garden of Eden before them- these will be muslim nations. They believe the land of Israel was promised to them and this will be their last attempt to eliminate of Israel and to possess the holy land for themselves.
And nothing shall escape them- the seed of the whore (harlot) will come to an end and those who trust in the Lord will inherit the land.
Israel is a whore / harlot because she always worshiped other gods. She worshiped them under trees, she sacrificed her children, she poured drink offerings and offered meat offerings to them, she has whored herself on the mountains by offerings sacrifices on them, she has enlarged her bed by whoring with many gods, and finally her last whoredom will be the false messiah.
Isaiah 65:3But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore. 4Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood, 5Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks? 6Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these? 7Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice. 8Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it. 9And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell. 10Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved. 11And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not? 12I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee. 13When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
Revelation 9 cont'd- it's too late
Revelation 9:20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
With the final one third if Israel killed these unrepented people will be those who invaded Israel's land and the people of the beast. They will be treaded in the winepress. (Revelation 14:14-20 and 19:11-21)
Revelation Ten
Without chapter ten and other scripture it would be impossible to understand when the seventh trumpet sounds!
Revelation 10:1And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: 2And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, 3And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 5And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
The angel swore the seventh trumpet will begin to sound when the mystery of God is finished as He hath declared to His servants the prophets. The seventh trumpet will not and can not sound until one-thousand years after the second coming of Jesus.
(1 Thessalonians 1:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.)
There's only two resurrections- they that are Christs' at His coming are only the martyred Christians- those who died for God- the first resurrection. (See Revelation 20:1-6.) Then, 1000 years later cometh the end when He shall have delivered the kingdom up unto God- the final resurrection.
1 Corinthians 15:20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Verse 25- 'For He must reign till He hath put all enemies under His feet' and 'the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.'
1 Corinthians 15:50Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Verse 52 & 54- 'For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be charged' - 'So when this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.'
It's 1000 years after Jesus has returned, when death is destroyed.
Revelation 20:11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
(For more on the seventh trumpet see my Revelation 11:15-18.)
Revelation 10 cont'd- John must prophesy again.
Revelation 10:8And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. 11And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
Revelation 11- the measuring rod
Revelation 11:1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
(The temple of God = they're still worshipping YHVH.)
When the Gentiles take control of the city the daily sacrifices will stop but they will allow the Jews to continue other worship. It's near the end of the forty and two months when they will begin to believe in the coming false messiah.
Verse one- 'and the angel stood' is omitted in the Greek texts. In fact most English translations omit it as well. I believe they're correct in doing so. The next verse begins with 'And I will give power unto my two witnesses' which I believe is God talking and not an angel.
New International Version
Revelation 11:1I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers.
New American Standard Version
Revelation 11:1Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it.
John was given the reed like unto a rod and was told to measure the people etc. This measurement is weighing their punishment. (The non elect seed will receive double for their sins.)
Unto a rod Greek rhabdō a rod below 1 Corinthians 4:21
1 Corinthians 4:21What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
Matthew 7:2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Isaiah 28:17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Jeremiah 46:28Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
Psalms 89:31If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; 32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
If they disobey their transgression will be visited with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.
(Below plagues is Greek plēgōn from plégé and same word is translated of stripes in Luke 12:48.)
Revelation 18:4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
(Luke 12:48 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes]. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes].)
The 144,000 come out of her and escape the plagues/ stripes.
The plagues/ stripes are the wrath of God. (plagues Greek plēgas from plégé)
Revelation 16:1And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
The LORD's voice cried unto the city.... hear ye the rod and who hath appointed it.
Micah 6:9The LORD'S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. 10Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? 11Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? 12For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. 13Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. 14Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. 15Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. 16For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
(The statutes of Omri are kept (observed) and all the works of the house of Ahab is idolatry which the Israelites will be doing with the false messiah (christ)- the beast.)
Revelation 11 cont'd- the two witnesses
The two witnesses will be here during the fifth seal, the beginning of the sixth seal, the fifth and sixth trumpet and through the seven vials- the last three and a half years.
Revelation 11:3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
(Not the kosmos/ the world nor the oikoumené/ the inhabited earth but the gēn the region.)
The earth Greek gēn
From gé
Short Definition: the earth, soil, land
Definition: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.
They have the power to shut heaven so it will not rain in the says of their prophecy.
Ezekiel 22:23And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 24Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
Revelation 11 cont'd- the two witnesses killed
Revelation 11:7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Verse eight - 'the great city which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt where also our Lord was crucified' is Jerusalem.
Israel's land and the people being described as Sodom
Isaiah 1:10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
Jeremiah 23:14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Revelation eleven cont'd- the first resurrection
Revelation 11:11And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Verse 12- 'and they ascended up to heaven in a cloud' is the first resurrection.
They died for God and will be in the first resurrection. Jesus second coming is near.
Revelation 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 11 cont'd- the earthquake and the return of Jesus
Revelation 11:13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
(These events also occur in Revelation 12:13-17.)
After the earthquake is when the final one third, the seed of the whore, the adulterer, will be cut off. It will be the second woe, part of the sixth vial, the sixth trumpet and vial. (See also the end of my chapter 12.)
Joel 2:30And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Isaiah 60:1Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Joel 2:2A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
Zephaniah 1:14The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. 15That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, 16A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. 17And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
Isaiah 29:5Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly. 6Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
The earthquake and the return of Jesus
Zechariah 14:3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Verse 5- 'and the LORD my God shall come and all the saints with thee'- the first resurrected saints.
Verse 13 of Revelation 12- 'and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.' Jesus is on earth see Revelation 14:1-7.
Revelation 11 cont'd- the second woe and third woe
Revelation 11:14The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
The second woe begins when the devil is expelled from heaven (Revelation 12:12) and then he, with the ten horns, kills the final one third (Revelation 17) and it ends with the completion of the seventh vial in Revelation 16:17-21 and the return of Jesus.
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
(The first one third killed see Zechariah 13:8 and my Revelation's 6:7-8, 8:8-9 and 17.)
The third woe cometh quickly or without delay- when God has it planned.
Quickly Greek taxý does not mean "immediately" or necessarily "in a very short time" but rather "without any delay."]

Revelation 22:7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Revelation 22:12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Revelation 22:20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
The third woe is the final wrath of God.
Revelation 11 cont'd- the seventh trumpet
The seventh trumpet occurs only after Jesus has returned and has reigned for 1000 years.
Revelation 11:15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Verse 15- It's the kingdom (singular) of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. This is because Jesus has reigned and everything has been subdued unto Him.
King James 2000 Bible
Revelation 11:15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.
Verse 17- 'because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned'; He has reigned (past tense) meaning He has put down all rule and authority.
1 Corinthians 15:24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
(God all in all see Revelation 20:11-12).
1 Corinthians 3:25-26 For He must reign till He hath put all enemies under His feet- the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Death is destroyed 1000 years after the second coming of Jesus on the day of judgment and it's then when the dead are judged also.
Verse 18- 'and the nations were angry' at Jesus reign most likely.
Verse 18- 'time of the dead, that they should be judged' is the end. (Revelation 20:12-13)
Verse 18- 'thy wrath is come' occurs after Jesus has reigned for 1000 years and after the devil is released in Revelation 20:7-10.
Verse 18- 'shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great'- is the final resurrection.
Remember it's only those who have died for God who are in the first resurrection (Revelation 7:9-14 & 20:1-6) so no one else will be resurrected until after Jesus has reigned and that's what is going on here. This will be the final resurrection.
Verse 18- 'shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.'
They're are destroyed / corrupted the earth through their sin. The Greek word for
destroy the earth is diaphtheirontas from Greek diaphtheiró: to destroy utterly, to spoil, corrupt.
Revelation eleven cont'd- the kingdom / the bride is to be delivered up.
Revelation 11:19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
'and there were lightnings and voices and thunderings and an earthquake and great hail.'
All major judgments begin with this or something similar to it. Revelation 8:5- the beginning of Israel's judgment and Revelation 16:18- the judgment of the seventh vial- Israel's judgment's fulfilled. This one, the seventh trumpet, is God's final judgment on them which corrupted the earth with their sin.
'And the temple of God was opened in heaven.'
The temple of God will be opened for the delivering up of the kingdom / the bride.
1 Corinthians 15: 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1 Corinthians 15:52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality
There are only two resurrections in the Holy Bible. One- those who are His at His coming- the martyred saints. (Revelation 7:9-17 & 20:4-6) and two- all others on the day of judgment. (Revelation 20:11-15) (Please read the kingdomofheaven.org for more on the bride. )
Revelation 12
Revelation 12:1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven ; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
1. A woman travailing in birth 2. A red dragon and a third part of the stars 3. The Man Child
1. A woman travailing in birth
These verses are tricky. This also was done I believe to help understand Revelation. Anyhow, if you noticed how chapter 11 ended it will help. Chapter 11 ended with God rewarding the prophets, the saints (the holy) and those who fear His name. Then heaven was opened and then the next verse (12:1) reads 'and there appeared a great wonder in heaven.' The great wonder in heaven is the woman. The woman in heaven will be the bride of Christ. Then the next versen reads she is travailing in birth. This is the same woman but this woman is on Earth. The woman on Earth is the elect seed of Israel on Earth compared to the non elect seed of Israel- the woman in purple and scarlet in Revelation 17 & 18. Thus, chapter 12 ends by describing the woman in white's seed as they which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. So now these next verses will be part of the woman in heaven but this takes place on the earth and before she is rewarded.
(Please read TheKingdomofHeaven.Org for a in depth study on the bride of Christ.)
2. A red dragon and a the third part of the stars
The red dragon is satan. The seven heads and ten horns were are both leaders and nations. (See Revelation 17:8-13) They were explained previously with the seventy weeks and will be addressed further in Revelation chapter seventeen.
The dragon's tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven with him. The third part of the stars are the angels which followed satan when he fell from heaven. (His tail drew and cast them to the earth- they followed him.)
The dragon which stood before the woman to devour her child was Herod, an instrument of satan, or maybe satan himself.
Matthew 2:13And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Matthew 2:16Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
3. The Man Child
The elect woman of Israel brought forth Jesus and He was caught up to God.
Acts 7:55But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Revelation 12 cont'd- the woman in the wilderness
Revelation 12:6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
The woman is the 144,000
One thousand two hundred and threescore days is the exact time, forty-two months, the beast will have power. God's people living in that region will be given unto the beast but the woman, the 144,000, will flee to the wilderness/ mountains/ solitary place where they will be nourished and protected until the return of Jesus.
The wilderness and a solitary (below) are the Greek word erēmon.
From érēmos – properly, an uncultivated, unpopulated place; a desolate (deserted) area; (figuratively) a barren, solitary place that also provides needed quiet (freedom from disturbance).

Mark 1:35And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
The 144,000 will be sealed before any of Revelation's events begin (see Revelation 7:1-8) so they will understand and they will flee to the wilderness/ mountains/ solitary place.
Matthew 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
John 10:1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
Revelation 12 cont'd- the remainder of chapter twelve is the opening of the sixth seal, sixth trumpet and the sixth and seventh vial
Revelation 12:7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
(world Greek oikoumenēn from oikoumené the inhabited earth)
This woman fled into the wilderness and then near the end of the thousand two hundred and threescore days / forty two months the war in heaven took place. Michael and his angels fight against satan and his angels and satan and his angels lose the war. After the war there will be no place in heaven for them- they will be permanently expelled from heaven. This war in heaven occurs after the tribulation. It's the beginning of the sixth seal, the fifth and sixth vial and the sixth trumpet- the hour of His judgment. Then Jesus returns.
Matthew 24:29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Verse 29- 'the stars shall from heaven and the powers of the heaven shall be shaken' is after the war in heaven when the devil and his angels will be expelled from heaven.
Daniel 12:1And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Revelation 12 cont'd- the first resurrection
Revelation 12:10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The power Greek exousia
power to act, authority
Verse ten-'Now is come salvation' is the first resurrection.
Verse eleven- 'they loved not their lives unto the death' meaning he's referring to those who have died for God which are the first resurrection saints.
(The first resurrected saints also in Revelation 7:9-17, 11:11-12, 17:14, 19:14 & 20:1-6 and the bride also in Revelation 19:6-10 & 20:1-4.)
It will be the first resurrected saints which return with Jesus when He establishes the kingdom of God on earth.
Zechariah 14:5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Revelation 17:14These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Revelation 19:14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Now is come.... strength.... and the power of His Christ
Jesus was given all power after His resurrection but now with satan being expelled from heaven and soon bound for 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-6) The earth will now belong to Jesus and He will have the strength and power to execute His authority without any interference.
Matthew 28:18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
1 Corinthians 15:24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
The accuser of the brethren, satan, is cast down. This time being permanently expelled from heaven because before this he had access to heaven.
Job 1:6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Job was an upright man who feared God, he restrained to do evil and he was well off; so satan accused Job to God saying the only reason why Job was this way was because God hath provided everything for him. So God let satan test Job.
Job 2:4And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
The devil also desired to test Peter.
Luke 22:31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Job and Peter both overcame their trials. Peter loved not his life unto the death and paid with his life. Peter will be in the first resurrection judging and reigning with Jesus.
Matthew 19:27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Revelation 12 cont'd- the second woe
Revelation 12:12Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

John repeated this from Revelation 12:6; except it isn't one-thousand two hundred and threescore days, it's a time and times and half a time. This again is the same time the false messiah (christ) will have power for. God's people living in that area will be given unto the beast but the woman, the elect 144,000 of Israel, will flee to the wilderness/ mountains/ solitary place where they will be nourished and protected until the non elect seed of Israel is cut off and the return of Jesus.
Isaiah 65:11But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. 12Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. 13Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: 14Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
Isaiah 35:1The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. 3Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. 4Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
The way the King James Bible translated this makes it seem as if her wings were given to her when satan was cast out of heaven but that isn't the case. They flee to the wilderness when the abomination of desolation is set up, at the beginning of the tribulation. Here and now, in Revelation 12:13-14, satan has been expelled from heaven and he has no time left.
It's the second woe- After the war with Michael the devil has been expelled from heaven with great wrath and he knows he has little time left and desires to get the woman, the 144,000.
Daniel 12:1And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Revelation 12:14- 'he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child' but it shouldn't be persecuted. It should be the dragon aggressively chased/ hunted down/ pursued will all haste/ chased after/ earnestly desired to apprehend the woman.
he persecuted Greek ediōxen below persecute Greek ediōkon
From diṓkō – properly, aggressively chase, like a hunter pursuing a catch (prize). (diṓkō) is used positively ("earnestly pursue") and negatively ("zealously persecute, hunt down"). In each case, (diṓkō) means pursue with all haste ("chasing" after), earnestly desiring to overtake (apprehend).

As below they hadn't yet persecuted Jesus but they were pursuing ideas on how they would persecute Him.
John 5:16And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
The dragon only pursues the woman. He doesn't nor can he persecute the woman because she has fled and is safely away from the face of the serpent.
Revelation 12:14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
The two wings of a great eagle is God giving the 144 000 the will, the strength and the protection to flee and to make it to their place where they will be protected and nourished until the return of Jesus.
Exodus 19:1In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. 2For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. 3And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; 4Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
Deuteronomy 32:10The Lord found him in a desert land, in the place of horror, either hideousness, and of waste wilderness; the Lord led him about, and taught him, and he kept him as the apple of his eye. (The Lord found them in a desert land, in a howling, wasted wilderness; and the Lord led them about, and taught them, and kept them as the apple of his eye.) 11As an eagle stirring his birds to fly, and flying above them, he spreaded forth his wings, and took them into his protection, and he bare them in his shoulders. (Like an eagle stirring his young to fly, and flying above them, he spread out his wings, and took them up, and he carried them upon his shoulders.)
Isaiah 40:29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Revelation 12 cont'd- the flood
Revelation 12:15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
The flood is the ten horns or the ten kings of Daniel and Revelation. It will be satan's final attempt to get the 144,000 in the wilderness. This is when the final one third will be killed. First he will kill the two witnesses. Then he will pursue the woman but the earth will open up her mouth, the earthquake of Zechariah 14, Revelation 6, 11 & 16 will happen, and this will prevent him from getting to her. Then he will turn his anger on other surviving elect Israelites. As he pursues them he kills the final one third. (The two thirds in Revelation 6:9-11 & 9:13-19.) Then Jesus returns and destroys the beast and his armies. Then He pours His Spirit upon the surviving remnant and satan is bound for 1000 years.
(These events are the sixth seal- Revelation 6:12-14, the sixth trumpet- Revelation 9:12-21, Revelation 11:11-14, Revelation 14:7-11, the sixth vial- Revelation 16:12-16 , and the seventh vial- Revelation 16:17-21, Revelation 17-18, Revelation 19:11-21 and Revelation 20:1-6.)
The flood
Revelation 12:15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Revelation 15:13And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Some Old Testament examples of waters or a flood being an army or armies.
Isaiah 17:12Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! 13The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
Jeremiah 46:7Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers? 8Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
Jeremiah 47:2Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
Prophecies of the coming flood (Jesus' return is imminent.)
Daniel 12:26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
(The end thereof shall be with a flood is also in my seventy weeks found above on top of this page- chapters 8-12.)
Amos 8:7The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. 8Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. 9And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: 10And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
(Darkness first and it will be as someone mourning for an only son- the remnant will be mourning for Jesus.)
Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
The earthquake and the second coming.
Zechariah 14:1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zechariah 14:10And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
